Before entering content in EPD-Online, make sure product information, assessment data and evidence fit together. Coordinated preparation reduces later questions about the scope, origin and meaning of your information.

Agree what information is needed

Start with the agreed product scope and applicable PCR. Your LCA specialist uses these to define the data required. A general checklist is a useful starting point but does not replace product-specific requirements and the chosen assessment scope.

Organise three sets of information

Separate technical product documents, LCA input data and evidence for verification. Product data sheets support the description; consumption and quantity records support calculations. The background report later explains how this information was used.

Record versions and responsibilities

For each file or dataset, record the site, period, unit, source and responsible person. Use clear filenames and shared storage with agreed access. When a value changes, document the reason and which assessments are affected.

Prepare the handover

Before handover, check for omissions, inconsistent periods and conflicting units. Identify unresolved issues explicitly. A blank value must not silently be interpreted as zero consumption. Agree who will resolve each gap and by when.
