The background report explains how your EPD results were obtained. Together with supporting evidence, it provides an essential basis for verification.
Explain calculations and data
The report should document scope, data and methodological choices according to the applicable requirements. These include units, system boundaries, allocations and scenarios. Have the specialists responsible for the LCA prepare it.
Align the report and EPD
Compare product scope, results and versions. If a result changes during verification, review the related explanations as well. Avoid ambiguously named files such as “final-new” containing different working versions.
Compile targeted evidence
Associate evidence with the statements it supports. Name documents so their content, product and version are clear. Required test reports and other evidence depend on the PCR and the specific statements in your EPD.
Upload documents appropriately
Use the appropriate document type for the background report and evidence in EPD-Online. Check attachment visibility. Confidential calculation documents should not be added as publicly accessible product information.
