An EPD budget includes external specialist services, internal work and IBU fees. Free use of the platform does not mean that creating an EPD is free.
LCA and internal preparation
Request a quotation identifying products, sites, data preparation and support during verification. Agree how additional variants, translations and later revisions will be charged. Also reserve time for production, purchasing and project coordination.
IBU fees under the fee schedule
The fee schedule effective 12 August 2026 lists EUR 2,700 for a standard initial issue or recalculation and EUR 1,500 for revision or updating. Annual mark fees and, where applicable, membership dues are additional. The standard annual mark fee for the first valid declaration is EUR 960, with a sliding scale for further declarations.
Special cases and a confirmed budget
Special provisions apply to individualisations, tool solutions, related EPDs submitted together and additional services. Membership status can also affect fees. Use the complete current fee schedule for a confirmed budget and have your project’s classification checked.
Submission and cancellation
Submission places the verification order. Clarify costs beforehand. If a commissioned verification is cancelled at the declaration owner’s request or for reasons within their responsibility, the fee schedule provides for the full verification fee; additional work may also be charged. Contact IBU before ending a commissioned procedure.
