A suitable consultant understands your product group and supports the path from production data to documents ready for review. Compare the scope of work as carefully as the quoted price.
Discuss experience and availability
Ask about experience with your product group and the IBU programme. Describe sites, variants and target markets. Establish who will carry out the technical work and when data review, calculations and queries can realistically be scheduled.
Define deliverables clearly
Clarify whether the quotation includes data collection, the LCA model, background report, EPD text, platform entry and verification queries. Agree languages, file formats and the number of products covered. This makes quotations with different boundaries comparable.
Agree collaboration and future use
Discuss confidentiality, data delivery and access to project files. Agree which documents you will receive for future updates and the relevant usage rights. Having a platform account does not resolve these contractual questions.
Start with a specific enquiry
Send a short product overview, number of sites, available data and intended timeframe. Request a clear scope including assumptions and additional costs. IBU assigns the reviewer for the later independent verification.
