An EPD requires an appropriate product scope, reliable data, specialist input and eligibility to participate in the IBU programme. Check these points before submission.
Participation in the IBU programme
The programme is generally available to IBU members. The fee schedule also provides for eligibility derived through group or association membership and Private Label Agreements. The declaration owner therefore does not always need individual membership. Ask IBU to confirm your particular arrangement.
Product scope and PCR
Define the product or product group being declared and the sites included. Identify the applicable Product Category Rules. If no suitable PCR exists, agree the next steps with IBU before commissioning calculations on an uncertain basis.
Data and expertise
Your company needs to supply the necessary product and manufacturing information. Qualified specialists calculate the LCA outside EPD-Online. Allow time for internal questions, supporting evidence and review of the completed content.
Access and commissioning
Use an individual account with the permissions needed for your project. Submission for verification places an order and incurs charges. Coordinate submission internally with the person responsible for commissioning the work.
