The PDF is suitable for reading and sharing. Machine-readable data enables EPD information to be processed in digital applications. Both support use of your published declaration.
PDF and machine-readable data
A PDF presents the EPD document. A digital dataset structures results and associated information for reuse, for example in building LCAs. A manually transcribed table does not automatically replace the required dataset.
IBU.data and other access routes
IBU.data provides digital EPD data. Other portals may also offer access. Check product reference, version and declared unit when retrieving data. Matching product names in two portals do not by themselves confirm identical datasets.
Transfer to ÖKOBAUDAT
For ÖKOBAUDAT, consider the required transfer consent and the database’s acceptance conditions. Publishing a PDF alone does not establish inclusion. Check the transfer request in your project and discuss missing datasets with IBU.
Clarify customer requirements
Ask which format, software and dataset are required. Also establish product variant, modules and language. For interface questions, provide the relevant contact with a specific example rather than only asking for a “digital EPD”.
