The IBU (Insti­tut Bauen und Umwelt e.V.) and the North Amer­i­can EPD pro­gram hold­er Smart EPD agreed to a mutu­al recog­ni­tion and open­ing the way for build­ing prod­uct man­u­fac­tur­ers to bring their EPDs to the Amer­i­can market. 

More and more com­pa­nies from the con­struc­tion indus­try are com­mit­ted to achiev­ing a high­er lev­el of sus­tain­abil­i­ty. This is reflect­ed in the fact that 26 new mem­bers joined the Insti­tut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU) in the first quar­ter of 2024.

The Insti­tut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU) has intro­duced life cycle assess­ment rules for re-use prod­ucts in its Envi­ron­men­tal Prod­uct Dec­la­ra­tions (EPDs).

Our inter­na­tion­al com­mu­ni­ty is growing. 

Today, the IBU is more inter­na­tion­al than ever and we owe this pri­mar­i­ly to our mem­bers from all over the world.

AgBB eval­u­a­tion scheme in Prod­uct Cat­e­go­ry Rules

The Insti­tut Bauen und Umwelt (IBU) updates the state­ments on the health assess­ment of con­struc­tion prod­ucts in its pro­gramme rules and incor­po­rates the AgBB eval­u­a­tion scheme 2018 into its Prod­uct Cat­e­go­ry Rules (PCRs).
