In June, the Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU) invited its independent verifiers to the 12th Verification Committee. This annual meeting ensures the quality of environmental product declarations (EPDs) to strengthen confidence in sustainable construction.
As an associated project partner, the Institut für Bauen und Umwelt e.V. (IBU) has been supporting the Zukunft Bau research project PCR4PV since June 1st 2024, which aims to advance the further development of Product Category Rules (PCR) for Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) of PV applications as part of Zukunft Bau research funding under the leadership of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE.
On 30.04.2024, the IBU published a new version of the PCR Part A (calculation rules for the life cycle assessment and requirements for the project report in accordance with EN 15804+A2:2019).
The IBU (Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V.) and the North American EPD program holder Smart EPD agreed to a mutual recognition and opening the way for building product manufacturers to bring their EPDs to the American market.
