We are looking for someone to join our Berlin office from 1 September 2026 to provide support in the areas of digitalisation, data quality and process support.
The Institut Bauen und Umwelt e. V. (IBU) is the programme operator for Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for construction products. EPDs contain verified environmental information and life cycle assessment data and form an important data basis for sustainable construction.
You will work within the IBU EPD programme, dealing with structured data, specialist digital applications, documents and process steps, and will help ensure the quality of information relating to Environmental Product Declarations.
To support our IT and digitalisation department, we are looking for a student assistant with an interest in technology, a meticulous approach to work and a keen interest in familiarising themselves with digital applications, data structures and internal processes.
Your responsibilities
You will assist us with the maintenance, verification and further development of digital processes and data. In doing so, you will work at the interface between IT, data quality, internal organisation and specialist applications.

- Assisting with simple testing and maintenance tasks relating to digital applications
- Helping to structure and document internal workflows
- Assisting with smaller-scale digitisation and automation projects
- Maintaining, filing, structuring and preparing documents, data and overviews
- Providing organisational support for standardised processes, for example regarding document versions, deadlines, tracking and filing
- General support for permanent staff in day-to-day operations
Depending on your interests and prior knowledge, you will also gain insight into topics such as process automation, the use of AI, data quality, system documentation and specialist digital applications.
Your profile
You are currently enrolled as a student, ideally on a degree programme related to Computer Science, Business Informatics, Data Science, Information Management, Software Engineering or a comparable field.
You have a basic technical understanding, work meticulously and are keen to familiarise yourself with digital applications, data structures and internal processes.
It would be helpful if you had some initial knowledge of or practical experience with:
