How are the new EU Construction Products Regulation and increasing data quality requirements changing construction practice? These were the questions addressed at the IBU Expert Forum 2026 on 23 June. Experts from the fields of regulation, industry and academia gathered in Berlin and via livestream to discuss the impact of the new requirements on manufacturers, designers and contracting authorities, and what will be crucial in future for reliable environmental data.
The focus was on the implications of the new EU Construction Products Regulation, the importance of high-quality and verified data, and the role of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) as the basis for transparency, trust and sustainable decision-making in the construction sector.
The Expert Forum made it clear once again: the challenges of sustainable transformation can only be overcome through dialogue. The IBU sees itself as a platform for professional exchange and brings together the relevant stakeholders to work jointly on reliable standards, high data quality and future-proof solutions for sustainable construction.
