Round table kick-off sustainable construction with EPDs for building technology
The IBU invites all interested parties in the building services industry to an open exchange on the importance of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for the building services industry!
Target group:
The event is aimed at representatives from all areas of building technology – from heat pumps, CHPs and condensing boilers to PV systems, solar thermal energy, ventilation, cooling, lighting and control and measurement technology.
Date: Wednesday, August 14th 2024
Zeit: 13:00 – 15:30 h (MESZ)
Why you should participate?
It is essential to think and plan the building technology used in buildings and the building materials and products used in the building together in order to enable sustainable construction, operation and dismantling. This is the only way to achieve a holistically sustainable building concept! The building life cycle assessment and the underlying product data in the form of EPDs are the recognized method for assessing the sustainability of buildings and are common practice for building product manufacturers. Increasingly, life cycle assessment data for building services is also becoming relevant.
Let’s start a conversation about:
- The influence of TGA products on sustainable construction
- The increasing demand and importance of EPDs in accordance with EN 15804 for building technology
- Closing the data gap by EPDs for building services products
The event program includes:
- Welcome by Florian Pronold, IBU Managing Director
- Classification of the topic by Prof. Dr. Thomas Lützkendorf (KIT): Overall insight into the importance of EPDs for the TGA industry.
- Practical experience report from the Zumtobel Group (Johannes Beiter): Automated creation of EPDs for lighting technology
- Brief presentation of the IBU EPD program by Stefan Zwerenz, Head of the IBU Verification Body: EPD process and added value of the IBU as program operator
- An open discussion and room for questions
Moderation: Anita Kietzmann (Head of Public Relations at IBU)
Participation is free of charge. Secure your place and register now!
You are also welcome to forward the invitation to other interested parties in your network!
We look forward to exchanging ideas with you!
PS: You’ve never heard of EPDs and their importance for sustainable construction? Then it’s about time!
