Our members and declaration holders are mainly from Germany, but also from other European and non-European countries. To make this possible for small and medium-sized enterprises, the IBU has developed various EPD models.<\/p>\n<p>Membership positions building product manufacturers as pioneers in sustainable construction. With their EPDs, they demonstrate their commitment to continuously improving the environmental quality of their products. EPDs can then be created at IBU, provided the respective product is included in association\u2019s product range.<\/p>\n<p>Associations that are full members at IBU can transfer their right to create EPDs to their member companies (\u201cfurther declaration owners\u201d).<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Associated membership<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In case of an associated membership this option is not available. The associations decide to solely create Association EPDs, which means that their members cannot create their own EPDs or individualized EPDs through their association. Should a company wish to create their own EPD they have to become a full member at IBU.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>Supporting membership<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Any organization, company or person that wants to support the guiding principles of IBU can become a supporting member (without participating in the IBU Programme). In order to file for a supporting membership just send a letter\/ email to the IBU office.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>The board takes the decision on the membership
